Nanban Watch Collaboration with Katabami Watch Japan designed by Vasco Vicente
I designed this watch based on a damaged playing card once used in Unsun Karuta, a game brought to Japan by the Portuguese in 1543. The original cards are almost completely gone. Torn, burned, faded. But this project was never about product or profit. It was about honouring craft and showing that design can last when it comes from real meaning, especially through friendship and shared ideas.

Only a 5-watch limited edition was created. This piece is physical, not digital. Made by hand, not code. A reminder that history still speaks if we choose to listen. I hope it encourages others to create with intention, build with their hands, and make work that lasts.
